Site About Pauli Ebner's Art and Work
Who was Pauli Ebner?
Paula Ebner, painter and illustrator
Paula Ebner (1873-1949) was an Austrian painter and illustrator, especially known for her portraits of the scenes from the life of children. Not much is known about her life. She was born as Paulina Ebner in Vienna to her father, a glove maker. She studied at the private art school Strehblow in Vienna and became a member of the Austrian Association of Artists in 1912.
On this site, we'll try to present her work as faithful as possible but unfortunately, many of her works were simply lost in old archives or private collections. Some of them were also published without credit. Apart from picture books and books for children, she also collaborated on several text books. Another important source of income for her was picture postcards, published by different publishing houses. If you have any useful info about her or can share a scan of Paula Ebner's (often signed as Pauli Ebner or P. Ebner) works with her growing fan base, you are welcome to contact me.
Enjoy the beauty of Pauli Ebner's creations.
